Since 1929, The Ticker Club has served as a gathering place for leaders in the Canadian financial markets. The objective of the organization is to stimulate ideas, to facilitate understanding, and to develop insights related to current and future trends in the financial markets.

We strive to achieve this by creating interactions with leaders from various industries, in addition to individuals and other organizations who can speak to political, cultural and social issues.

Our Club achieves a high degree of intimacy and collegiality among senior members of the business community through its strict requirement for attendance among its active members, and through its private luncheon speech series. Featuring distinguished guest lecturers and followed by question and answer segments, these events are never to be missed.

Membership Portal

My aim was simply to bring together some bright young minds from various elements of the financial scene to pool our information for the benefit of our readership and clients. At that time, there were no independent financial analysts providing statistics to investors, only salesmen with their respective drums to beat.

  • The Forecast Dinner

Although The Ticker Club began in 1929, the first Forecast Dinner only occurred in 1942. It quickly became the highlight of the year and remains a key part of the organization’s commitment to sharing knowledge and building relationships between members.

All members attending the dinner are given a chance to include their own forecasts.

  • The Ticker Club Awards

We continue the traditions of presenting the Floyd Chalmers Prize for Excellence in Business Journalism and the Warren Goldring Fellowship Award to Advancing Heart Health Research. These are made possible thanks to partnerships with the University of Toronto and the Toronto Metropolitan University, respectively.

These awards exemplify the values and principles that The Ticker Club stands for, and help in assisting young journalists and students alike. Members and leadership always look forward to celebrating the winners at our lunches.
